Born and raised in Australia, Charmaine has lived, worked and studied in Ireland and Germany, and now calls Canada home.

In 2012 Charmaine completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Political and International relations through James Cook University, Australia. During her education she was privileged to spend a semester at the University of New Brunswick in 2010 where she first fell in love with Canada.

After university Charmaine spent several years working within the disability support sector in Australia before moving to Ireland in 2016. Charmaine took on a 6 month contract for the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission before settling at Eirgid Group where she spent the next 18 months working on their DS3 System Service project to increase renewable energy onto the Irish electricity grid.

In 2018 Charmaine moved to the Okanagan Valley. Since visiting the Okanagan in 2010 she had always intended to return, and was impressed by the innovation and entrepreneurial spirit that was developing in the region. Charmaine is also an avid hiker and missed being close to nature. The Okanagan Valley offered her the best of all worlds and she has not regretted her decision to make the Okanagan her home.

For the last two years Charmaine has been working with Naramata Centre as their Manager of Programs and Community Experience. She is now looking for new opportunities to support other charity organizations, social enterprises, and local businesses to succeed.

Charmaine Pearce has enjoyed a diverse career supporting the creation of safe, sustainable, inclusive and rich communities. Visit her LinkedIn profile here for more details of her career and community leadership.
